I uploaded to the wiki some images maybe someone could use. As far as any factual info i could offer i was unsure as to what i would want to put out there. I do use wikipedia and trust its information for the most part because unless something was incorrect or really important i dont see why someone would bother to put it out there. Thats what i think.
oh well.

mmm... delicious!
Ok, I was inspired by the delicious name to bookmark a site I like to utilize: the daily plate. Helpful if you ever wanna watch what you eat (to reach goals or for curiosity). It also has very comprehensive list of calorie burning activities that you can log as well. Find out how many calories you burn bathing the dog or other common (or not so common activities.. ie: airplane repair). enjoy!

Social Networking Activity
I already have experience with both Facebook and Myspace. Because of this I decided to sign up for and try LinkedIn. This site was pretty neat; it allowed me to join a group of professionals will similar skills and intrests. I can ask professional questions when I have trouble or bounce ideas off others. In addition, looks like there are some nice networking/job seeking resources that could be worked out of here too. Pretty cool, I'm sure a link to this site could be good for members of the community.
Flickr Activity
I like flickr a lot! I have a personal account I use on occasion to share with family and friends, or just for me. I find it also a great resource for ideas and reference material. Everything is here... even recipes.. search for a cake, find a yummy picture and often how to make it. I recently got some inspiration for the animals I rendered to become part of the YS summer reading log. Its endlessly inspirational.. at least for me, it is a good place to start on an idea.. people photograph everything!
The library should post pictures on the site as a way to showcase our offerings an events. Could even be instructional, honestly, I see endless uses.

Trojan Cat- the begining
So its and old photo but I found it recently on my computer and I think its kind of neat. Especially, because if you look carefully in the background you can see Manny the cat... maybe a source of inspiration?

Instant messaging is nothing new for me. In college we used icq to talk to our friends at other colleges and universities and then we moved on to yahoo messanger and text messaging. I quickly logged onto meebo to check it out,... nice that it is all encompassing IM wise and very simple to figure out. I have used the game and file sharing features before on previous IM sessions so I think i have all my bases covered. These activities have gotten simpler. Back to work. ;)

Bloggin Activity Do Over
Ok, so I guess I am not so good at following directions: seems I was supposed to comment on my experience with Blog Quest.
It was ok, easy to set up, although, a bit unclear once I made my blog; im a bit shaky on some of the site's functionality and navigation. I learn better by stumbling around and DOing rather than following step-by-step instruction, so aside from having to sign up for a Gmail account (i already have many others that appearently are not compatible), the experience was pretty simple and straight forward.
As far as my comments on the library blogs I saw, I only saw 2... one was strictly commentary, not what I envision as a blog, but as direct responses to the activities. The other was more of what I would have expected with a few entries... I commented on one as that is what I think we are supposed to do.
Ta- Dah!

Test Blog for Northbrook 8- Taking a Break

Taking a break from summer reading logs, which I have to say are coming along quite nicely. I really enjoy when I get to take some time out for drawing but its really intense. this should make for a good break. I am really not into blogging though so this is basically and excercise in stream of consiousness writing... Im such a horrible speller, those read lines are quite distracting. This should be good. I wanna see whats next.
hmm ... appearently spell check only makes sure you know that things are misspelled only calling further attention by highlighting them in yellow. you'd think it would want me to fix them. oh well, moving along
